Karst Laboratory
University of Florida, Dept. of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology

Join the Karst Lab
We are looking for curious, creative scientists who want to tackle important questions in early-life biology.
Our lab brings together virology, microbiology, metabolism, and developmental biology to understand how maternal and microbial signals shape health during early life. We value rigorous science, intellectual curiosity, collaboration, and the freedom to pursue unexpected findings.
Now Recruiting - Postdoctoral Fellow: We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow to investigate how maternal and microbial metabolites shape adipose development and long-term metabolic health. The project integrates developmental biology, metabolism, and mouse genetics and provides opportunities to define mechanisms of early-life metabolic programming.

Why the Karst Lab?
We believe great science comes from asking important questions in an environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and collaboration. Our goal is to help each lab member grow as a scientist, develop their own ideas and scientific identity, and pursue the career path that is right for them. We work hard, support one another, and believe that doing rigorous science and enjoying the people you do it with should go hand in hand.
